What is Open Climb?
Open Climb is a great way to come in and try out climbing. You don’t need any reservations, it’s perfect for all ages, and no experience is necessary. Just come to one of our gyms, on a Saturday or Sunday. The open climb pass includes 3 climbs, a harness rental, and an Earth Treks instructor to lead your climbing experience. Three climbs will give you a great taste of climbing, but if you enjoyed them so much you want to try more that day, they’re just $5 each.* It’s that simple! * Please note, extra climbs may not be available during peak hours.
All climbers under the age of 18 must have our Release of Liability and Assumption of Risks Form signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian, or they will not be permitted to climb in any Earth Treks program.
Please limit your group size to five or fewer. Larger groups may be better served by booking a private climbing party.

If you follow us on Instagram you might have seen pictures of our ET Setters climbing in Hueco Texas using the hashtag #AviClimbsOn. This is all thanks to the Avi Sengupta Climbing Scholarship—created by Earth Treks to honor the life and memory of beloved ET employee, Avishek “Avi” Sengupta. We want to share with you a little about what made Avi such a special person and how he inspired the new scholarship program.
Avi Sengupta was an incredible human being and truly represented the best of us as a company and community. He was one of the most passionate individuals we met. Even if you only met Avi once, you would never forget his smile, and passion for life, climbing, and adventure. Avi started working for Earth Treks as a young man and continued his dedicated service while in school and long after launching a successful career. Avi was an unparalleled listener, possessed wisdom beyond his years, partnered easily, and made everyone he interacted with feel valued. From a young age, Avi understood the incredible impact that climbing can have on people, and unselfishly went about sharing his passion for climbing (and passion for life) with anyone and everyone. As a climbing instructor, as a friend, or just someone you bumped into in the cave, Avi provided life changing experiences for countless individuals. Avi pursued his goals in climbing, fitness, and life every day until we lost him while he was participating in a Tough Mudder event on April 20, 2013.
In Avi’s memory and in his honor, Earth Treks is proud to introduce the Avi Sengupta Climbing Scholarship to Earth Treks Employees. This scholarship is a grant made annually by Earth Treks to support the climbing dreams of ET employees.
In its inaugural year we received numerous applications and narrowed it down to five awards—the first being the setter’s trip in Hueco!
Follow the ET setters crushing classic Hueco boulders, as well as the other four scholarship recipients throughout 2016. We will be posting updates on Instagram and in a Photo Album on Facebook.
