All Earth Treks Climbing Centers have extensive bouldering and bouldering training areas. Bouldering is unroped climbing on shorter walls ranging from 13 to 16 feet high in the gym over a padded surface. Many consider bouldering to be the purest kind of climbing movement in that it’s just you and the rock – no ropes and hardware to weigh you down or distract you from the climbing puzzle before you. Success will require balance, technique, strength, and mental toughness in equal measure. While you don’t need any previous climbing experience to boulder, there are inherent risks that cannot be eliminated. To reduce your chance of injury we strongly encourage new climbers to experience roped climbing first and / or to take a bouldering specific class such as Fundamentals of Bouldering. We also recommend reviewing the Bouldering Orientation found on the waiver page. We encourage you to see any front desk staff with questions.
