Bouldering is a climbing activity, performed without ropes. It is practiced on a small or indoor wall, typically at a height of about 10 feet. Bouldering may also be done on the sides of buildings or chimneys. This sports activity requires proper navigation, judgment, and good stamina. Ice climbing is an activity in which a climber climbs along a frozen waterfall or glacier, instead of on rocks. Climbers carry special tools meant for ice, instead of the standard nuts and wedges.
