Climbing Mt. Cotopaxi in Ecuador
Cotopaxi (19,347 feet) – The Worlds Highest Active Volcano! That’s nearly 5000 feet higher than Colorado’s biggest peak! An excellent introduction to high altitude mountaineering on Ecuador’s signature peak. This expedition will develop the mountaineering skills vital for any successful ascent: glacier travel and crevasse rescue, high altitude physiology, and snow climbing techniques.
With over 100 expeditions to Ecuador since 1992, this is the cornerstone of our mountaineering program.
Got more time on your hands? Join us for the Extended Ecuador Expedition and tackle both Cotopaxi and Cayambe!
