Rock N' River Camp

Earth Treks has collaborated with Ultimate Watersports to bring you a fresh camp that is a guaranteed winner. This five-day camp exposes kids to two of the coolest sports around -- rock climbing and kayaking. Just think of the stories they'll have to tell when they return to school!

Climbing days include basic safety skills instruction, team building games and challenges, and loads of climbing.  Kayaking days will be under the guidance of the Certified Kayak Instructors at Ultimate Watersports. Campers will learn flat and moving water paddling skills as they explore the Gunpowder River. Other topics also covered include, tides, currents, weather, water safety and self-rescue.

Each session is divided into two groups of no more than12 participants (groups A and B, please specify during registration).  Drop off and pick up times and locations are the same for each group (Earth Treks Timonium Climbing Center), but the groups alternate between climbing and kayaking activities.  One group will spend the first two days at Earth Treks Timonium while the other group will head off to Ultimate Watersports to kayak. Wednesday and Thursday, the two groups will trade places.  Friday will be spent at Earth Treks' Timonium Climbing Center where both groups will enjoy friendly Olympic-style events involving everything the campers learned in the first four days. Transportation to Ultimate Watersports is provided.

Timelines and Columbia Shuttle option:
Each day of camp will begin and end at Earth Treks Timonium. We will begin at 9:00am and end at 3:00pm.

We are very excited to offer this camp for Columbia climbers also.  We will be running a shuttle service during the R 'n' R weeks from Columbia to Timonium. The R 'n' R shuttle will leave the Columbia gym at 8:15am and return to the Columbia gym at 4pm. Sign up your child for the Columbia shuttle on the Rock n River Camp Forms.
